Triathlon Training, CoachSBR

Here’s what some of our wonderful athletes have had to say about us…

If Coach Sherry Rennard doesn’t pump you up to be your best, I don’t know what will. She’s always pushing you to be your best and always with a smile on her face. I have to admit, some days I’m wiped out for the rest of the day after one of her famous spin classes or track practices, but I know I’m a better triathlete for it. It’s comforting to know Coach Sherry walks the walk and suffers the training with us. And she is like a book full of what to do and what not to do at races due to her extensive race experiences.

I think her motto says it all:
Train Smart, Recover Right, and Race Fast!!!
Taro (Costa Mesa, CA)

I have been training with Sherry Rennard over the last year and I can say confidently that she is the best coach I have ever had in any sport. Being a beginner to triathlons I knew nothing, but Sherry has consistently helped me with questions ranging from injury inquiries to foot positions while cycling to running times. Although Sherry is an excellent athlete with a great deal of knowledge about training and racing, the best thing about being coached by her is that she is a kind hearted, caring and enthusiastic butt kicker who is always right behind you encouraging you to push just a little bit more.

When I started in triathlon three years ago, I knew absolutely nothing but how to ride a bike. In my first race, I struggled greatly in the swim, in the transitions and on the run. It really hurt and I felt physically terrible afterwards. Flash forward to this year and I am fully hooked on the training, the race prep, the gear…everything about the sport. In my last triathlon, I beat my previous time by over 30 minutes and I felt great after the race… It was a huge feat for me. I made this transition because of Sherry’s guidance and her eagerness to share her knowledge about the sport and how to train properly. Her love for the sport is totally infectious and makes it really fun. She really helps you to understand and apply the idea of training properly, so you maximize the use of the time you’ve got. I’ve lost a bunch of weight, I feel great and I have a new passion in life. Thanks for everything, Sherry!

Sherry has been coaching me for the last seven months. Sherry knows her business like none other and her business is coaching triathletes! At the beginning, I was 90 pounds over weight, I now have only 35 more to go! Through this life changing process, I have been injury free and have been putting up times I never thought were achievable. I owe a ton to COACH SHERRY! She takes her job seriously, while still making it fun and motivational. If anyone is serious about making that transition in their life, COACH SHERRY is the one to help you make it happen.

Sherry was our cycle coach through Team in Training for the Tour de Palm Springs, 2010 and we could not have been more fortunate to have such an amazing motivator and mentor!!! As beginning cyclists, we embarked on our first endurance challenge not knowing what we were getting ourselves into. Thanks to Sherry’s energy, encouragement and most importantly knowledge/mentoring of proper bike skill, training and nutrition, we were ready to go on event day. Moreover, Sherry takes the time to give you personal attention and address your specific concerns so you can reach your goals, whatever they may be.

Thank you Sherry for everything you did for us. We are extremely grateful for your hard work and efforts to get us across the finish line in Palm Springs. For those future athletes, take Sherry’s advice and know you are in excellent hands to get you through your event day and to motivate you to keep training thereafter!

Sherry has been coaching me through becoming a Triathalete for 4 months now. She takes the time is answer all my questions and gives detailed helpful answers. One of her best attributes is how positive she is. She makes you feel like you can DO ANYTHING! She coached me through my first swimming workout, in the pouring rain!! She is dedicated to helping people achieve their goals and have FUN doing it! Thanks Sherry!

Sherry’s corporate wellness program has opened up yet another chapter in my work-out routine. I’m fifty years old and have been excercising regularly all my life. I’ve played many sports, I go to the gym, hike and bike, but since i’ve quit playing hockey three years ago my work-outs have been stale. I used to run and lift weights so i could be a better hockey player.

Sherry is an inspiration to me, she makes working out fun. She teaches a ‘boot-camp’ style class after work twice a week which I try never to miss. Her classes are never dull, she is constantly coming up with new ways to use weights and she keeps the class moving. I’ve noticed after six months of doing Sherry’s class that my arms are finally toning up like they used to be, and she is getting me into running again.

Coach Sherry made training for the Palm Springs Century with Team in Training so much fun, I’m going to come back and do it all over again just because of her! Sherry is so patient and gives great advice on how to make your training customized to the individual, rather than the masses. I haven’t been cycling that long, but am loving it because of all the helpful information and support Sherry provided. I’m planning on completing 5 centuries this year! Thanks Coach Sherry! :)

Coach Sherry is a wealth of knowledge! She has a “can do” personality and believes the best in people. Coach Sherry would be a great asset for anyone training & preparing for just about anything! The sound advice, training plans and coaching she provides give you what it takes to cross any finish line at your best.

I joined Team In Training to get in shape My greatest experience with Coach Sherry was during a 70 mile training ride and at the 50 mile mark I had a meltdown and just stopped at a bus stop. Coach Sherry stopped and sat with me, talked to me to find out what was wrong. A couple of minutes later we were at a liquor store buying some Aleve, and more Gatorade. She had an extra pack of Chamois butter (yes she turned her head as I applied it…lol) and we were off. For the next 20 miles I was drafting off of her and only sneaked a peek at my bike computer a couple of times (we were actually doing 19+ mph). That day I made a friend AND had a great training experience. You can’t go wrong with Coach Sherry!

I love Sherry’s workouts! Eight months ago I was so out of shape and I decided to join the Corporate wellness class. When I started doing the workout class I felt like it was hard. I couldn’t even hold a plank for 10 seconds and if it wasn’t because she makes the class so fun I would have probably quit. She also motivates me to try my best, like she says ” you can do anything for 10 seconds”. Now I feel very good, so much stronger and can hold a plank for 60 seconds. I also like running now because of Sherry’s workout. Thanks so much Sherry!
